While Fred. Olsen are now introducing bolder, more exciting itineraries, including brand new 'Authentic Cruises', which take guests to some of the most magical destinations in the world, and unforgettable themed cruises which make the most of worldwide events, such as the famous Monaco Grand Prix, the traditional Braemar Highland Games, the vibrant Rio Carnival, the Seville Fair, and the exhilarating America's Cup in Bermuda, they still remain steadfast and true to their original philosophy offering traditional cruising, on small, friendly ships with excellent and attentive service, and mouth-watering cuisine.
With sailings from ten UK regional ports, the rest of the world has never been closer, as you cruise in comfort, looked after by a friendly and welcoming crew, making friends with like-minded fellow travellers, enjoying an array of entertainment, and discovering enthralling destinations. Although smaller and not as flashy as some of the larger ships on the seas, with their smaller size, Fred. Olsen's four Bs - Black Watch, Braemar, Boudicca and Balmoral - are able to navigate waterways which are simply out of reach of larger vessels, and can take you closer to the heart of such enchanting cities as Bordeaux, Bremen, and Seville, and exotic islands, too.
As one of the UK's leading Fred. Olsen cruise specialists, Team Select know the Fred. Olsen fleet well! Tracey's sailed on Balmoral and visited Black Watch, Braemar and Boudicca. Bella's visited Balmoral and sailed on Black Watch, Sharon's cruised on Boudicca and visited Black Watch and Braemar. Sarah and Julie have both sailed on Balmoral and Braemar, and Julie's also visited Black Watch and Boudicca. Rachel and Amy have both cruised with Fred. Olsen countless times, sailing on the whole fleet, including a cruise to Iceland and Norway onboard Black Watch, a Caribbean cruise on Braemar, a cruise from Cape Town to Durban and two Baltic cruises onboard Boudicca, and a number of cruises on Balmoral, including several mini cruises.
Julie says: 'Comfortable, familiar, and friendly
ships with a good range on itineraries mostly cruising from the UK.'
Amy says: 'Fred. Olsen ships feel like a second home to me, I feel like I've practically grown up on them. The food is always delicious, but over the years I have picked up a few favourites, including their lobster bisque! I like treating myself to a meal at The Grill, particularly enjoying the surf and turf. The crew are famously friendly, and they always remember you.'
Tracey says: 'Before I first cruised on Balmoral, I honestly thought it was going to be for the Older generation. I was clearly mistaken! The ship was lovely, so friendly and the staff were always happy – wherever I went someone always smiled at you. The food was brilliant onboard and the range of cocktails and drinks – thumbs up from me! Getting on/off ship when in port was brilliant, no hassle, or rush – as if we were in another world. We stayed in a SS – Superior suite onboard and it was heaven – plenty of room – very spacious.'
