A magical 14 day escorted tour to Assam in north-eastern India which includes a 4 night cruise down the Brahmaputra River aboard the RV Charaidew.  Your tour escort, Bella, has been in travel for over 25 years and has escored many tours worldwide.  She has a particular passion for India. 

HIGHLIGHTS

Kolkata - Visit the beautiful Jain Temple, Victoria Memorial, National Museum & Mother Teresa’s Orphanage. 

Guwahati - with a visit to the poignant Commonwealth War Graves cemetery. 

Brahmaputra Cruise - enjoy a taste of the wilderness experience, sandbanks like icebergs on either side.  Visit the Orang National Park where you can mount elephants or take jeeps and ride through forest and grassland looking for rhino, deer and other wildlife. 

Darjeeling - visits to the Botanical Garden, Himalayan Mountaineering Institute and the Tibetan Refugee Centre. Dawn visit to the Tiger Hill to view Mount Kanchenjunga & the peak of Mount Everest. 

Gangtok - capital town of the state of Sikkim - Rumtek Buddhist Monastery, Enchey Monastery.

The "Charaidew" has 12 generous-sized twin-bedded cabins with en-suite shower and W.C. All cabin accommodation is on the upper deck, as is a bar and saloon opening onto a front deck. A dining room with full length opening glass doors on each side is on the lower deck, while a large top sundeck offers additional comfortable open-air seating in shade or sun.
